29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):Machine Guarding. Types of guarding.�One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are - barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  a) On or about November 30, 2025, at an establishment located at 508 Elizabeth Street, Green Bay, WI, in the Packaging Department, employees investigating the Line #10 Cooling rack for signs of malfunction were exposed to caught-in hazards created by the in-running nip point between the stainless steel cooling belt and spacing bar located between the cooling belt and metal detection belt. The machine was not guarded to prevent exposure to these hazards. b) On or about November 30, 2025, at an establishment located at 508 Elizabeth Street, Green Bay, WI, in the Packaging Department, employees investigating the Line #10 Cooling rack for signs of malfunction were exposed to caught-in hazards created by the in-running nip point between the stainless steel cooling belt and end drive sprockets for the belt. The machine was not guarded to prevent exposure to these hazards.
