29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: (a) On or about April 17, 2026, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords in the trimming room were not used as fixed wiring. Flexible cords and power strips were used as power sources for wall mounted fans. (b) On or about April 17, 2026, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords in the curing room were not used as fixed wiring. Flexible cords and power strips were used as power sources for wall mounted fans. This condition could expose employees to the condition of electric shock or result in a fire.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: (a) On or about April 17, 2026, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords in the trimming room were provided strain relief. A surge protector in the trimming room was hung by its flexible cord without strain relief next to the storage room door. (b) On or about April 17, 2026, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords in the curing room were provided strain relief. Surge protectors and multi-receptacle outlets were hung by their flexible cords without strain relief. This condition could expose employees to the condition of electric shock or result in a fire.
