29 CFR  1926.55(a)(2): Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of Carbon Monoxide (CO), listed in Table 1 in excess, of the 8=hour Time Weighted Average permissible exposure limit of 50 ppm:  Location: Nantucket Yard Guard's garage at 111 Old South Road, Nantucket MA  A) On or about January 6, 2026, an employee of Nantucket Electrical Contractors, Inc. was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average carbon monoxide (CO) level of 175 ppm, approximately 3.5 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm, while operating a gas-powered Platform Basket spider lift (Model: PB1890 Pro; SN: PB12661) indoors. The exposure level was calculated based on the % carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) level in the worker's blood.  B) On or about January 6, 2026, an employee of Nantucket Electrical Contractors, Inc. was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average carbon monoxide (CO) level of 131.4 ppm, approximately 2.6 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm, while working near a gas-powered Platform Basket spider lift (Model: PB1890 Pro; SN: PB12661) operating indoors. The exposure level was calculated based on the % carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) level in the worker's blood.

Feasible methods of administrative or engineering controls included but were not limited to: 1. Increased ventilation in the workspace. 2. Installing meters & alarms to detect elevated levels of carbon monoxide. 3. Using battery powered equipment when working indoors.
