The electric pool pump was connected to a branch circuit without a ground-fault circuit interruption (GFCI).

29 CFR  1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings shall be effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment.  On or about February 10, 2026, the employer did not ensure filler plates were installed over two open slots in the panelboard located in the Pool Maintenance Room, thus exposing employees to electrical shock hazards.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(iv): There were damaged parts that could adversely affect safe operation or mechanical strength of the equipment, such as parts that are broken, bent, cut, or deteriorated by corrosion, chemical action, or overheating.  On or about February 10, 2026, the employer did not ensure that the electrical equipment including, but not limited to solid metal conduit and the electrical panelboard, energized at 120V/60A , in the pool maintenance room were not corroded. This condition was due to water vapor and swimming pool sanitization chemicals, exposing employees to electrical hazards.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):  Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating  at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):  On or about February 10, 2026, the employer did not ensure that live electrical parts were guarded against accidental contact by utilizing a plate cover, thus employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards.   a) an electrical outlet located on the wall adjacent to the laundry room drop shute, operating at 50 volts b) a general-use snap switch located on the wall in the kitchen, operating at 50 volts c) an electric water pump located in the pool maintenance room was directly connected with the branch circuit, operating at 120 volts d) a Raypak Pool and Spa Heater located in the pool maintenance room, operating at 240 volts
