An employee was exposed to an approximate 12-foot fall hazard as he worked from a scaffold that did not have the working level fully planked.

29 CFR 1926.451(f)(3): Scaffolds and scaffold components were not inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift, and after any occurrence which could affect a scaffold's structural integrity. On or about 23 February 2026, Rainbow Painting Company was taping drywall on a new residential structure under construction at 410 Yellow Rose Court, Lot 128 in Wentzville, Missouri. Employees were exposed to fall hazards as the employer failed to inspect the mobile scaffold and components for defects by a competent person prior to beginning work. The working level of the mobile scaffold was not fully planked, planks were not secured from displacement, and no fall protection system was utilized by an employee while working on a scaffold platform at a height of approximately 12-feet above the lower level.
