29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1):Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: (a)Steel Building Services, Inc. at 701 N. Ebenezer Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57107: On or about and at times prior to March 5, 2026, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from fall hazard while performing ridge cap repairs on the metal roof of a systems engineered metal building without a fall protection system in place. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard greater than 15 feet. Steel Building Services, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1835196, citation number 1, item number 3a and was affirmed as a final order on January 22, 2026, with respect to a workplace located at 2000 Mona Street, Tea, SD 57064.
