29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section: On or about March 3, 026, an employee was not provided with cave-in protection while working in an unprotected trench at a depth ranging from 7-9 feet deep, exposing the employee to a cave-in. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
