29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. On or about April 1, 2026, two employees were working along the edge of the bridge while adjusting rebar on the pans and were not adequately protected from falls to the platform 8 feet below in addition to the river which was approximately 30 feet below. b. On or about April 1, 2026, two employees were working on the bridge beams while disassembling / removing the existing section of road and were exposed to falls of approximately 8 feet to the scaffold platform.
