Such activities were not performed only by experienced and trained employees selected for such work by the competent person.  17 Greenbrier Road, Fairfield CT: On or about April 10, 2026, the employer did not ensure the ladder jack scaffold was erected under the supervision and direction of a person qualified in scaffold erection, and instead an untrained worker erected the scaffold to accomplish duties such as (but not limited to) installing residential siding.

29 CFR 1926.452(k)(2):  The support used for ladder jack scaffolds did not meet the requirements of Subpart X - stairways and ladders.  17 Greenbrier Road, Fairfield CT: On or about April 10, 2026, the shallow angle of the support ladders for the ladder jack scaffold did not meet the requirement of 1926.1053(b)(5)(i), where the foot of the ladder had a horizontal distance from the structure that was more than one-quarter the working length of the ladder, for the worker performing tasks from the ladder jack scaffold such as (but not limited to) installing residential siding.
