The employer required employees to wear half-face air purifying respirators while employees operated abrasive blasting equipment and cleaned the abrasive blasting booths to protect from exposure to respirable crystalline silica and respirable dust.  Note:  The employer may discontinue an employee's medical evaluations when the employee is no longer required to use a respirator.

Training should cover the written hazard communication program, hazards associated with the chemicals, methods to detect the release of hazardous chemicals, and measures employees can take to protect themselves from exposure to the chemicals.
