Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to no overhead protection provided for employees entering the building at the designated walkway and/or loading area, exposing the employees to falling objects (debris and building material): a) Southwest Corner at 21st Street. Observed 8/25/86 NOTE: Among others, one feasible method of abatement would be to install scaffolding with two (2) inch planking as overhead protection.
