Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a tripping hazard when maintenance personnel have to enter and work in machine rooms, or boilers during power failures due to the lack of emergency lighting: a) Campion Building Penthouse. Observed 6/2/88. b) Drexel Library (second floor roof entrance in janitor's closet. Observed 6/2/88. c) Drexel Library new roof. Observed 6/2/88. d) Barbellin/Lonergran Building basement machine room. Observed 6/22/88. e) Barbelling/Lonegran Building loft. Observed 6/2/88. f) Bellarimine Penthouse. Observed 6/2/88. g) Villiger Building basement machine room. Observed 6/2/88. h) LaFafge Student Residence machine room. Observed 6/2/88. i) New Field House machine room. Observed 6/2/88. j) Old Field House, Observed 6/2/88. ABATEMENT NOTE: A feasible method of abatement would be to install emergency lighting.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an electrical hazard while maintenance personnel perform maintenance or repairs on various voltages without a lock out procedure: a) All Buildings including: Campion, Barbellin and Villiger. Observed 6/2/88. ABATEMENT NOTE: A feasible method of abatement would be to initiate and maintain a lockout procedure.
