Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Clarison International Inc., Warehouse, Route 208 E, Pine Twp., Grove
City, PA, on the roof area, bolting up and placing the wind bracing
at column line 7 & 8 R line, column 9 M line, column 12 F line:
Employees exposed to a falling hazard estimated to be 26 feet to the
ground. Employees were not equipped with belts attached to safety
lines or secured to a structural member capable of supporting a
minimum dead weight of 5,400 lbs.
b) Clarison International Inc., Warehouse, Route 208 E, Pine Twp., Grove
City, PA, end wall southeast: Employee working approximately 15 feet
above ground level was not secured by a safety belt attached to a
lanyard.
