Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to severe skin injury due to the bonding affinity of Loctite Toughened Instant Adhesive: a) In the Speedometer Department, AtX Line - employees were consuming food and beverage and were smoking while working with the adhesive, on or about November 17, 1987. General method of control applicable in these circumstances include, but are not limited to the following: 1) Food, beverage and smoking should be prohibited in the area to prevent contamination of skin.
