Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Employee engaged in handling or moving beef carcasses, meat boning
operations, sanitation operations; cooler storage and handling
operations, or delivery operations were exposed to body mechanical
(musculoskeletal) injuries when manually moving and/or carrying
halves, quarters, or boxed beef.
A feasible and useful method to correct the hazard, among other methods
is the periodic comprehensive training and supervision of all employees
in body mechanics, manual lifting techniques, and in the recognition and
and avoidance of the hazards of manual lifting.
