Investigation abstract

At 12:00 a.m. on August 12, 2021, Employee #1 was troubleshooting and testing a shuttle pocket on a Buhrs bindery machine. After removing the guard to troubleshoot an issue, he attempted to remove a test book from the shuttle plate. While doing so, his right middle finger was pinched between the shuttle plate and pocket frame, resulting in a partial amputation. The employee was treated for the injury without hospitalization.
