Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

Investigation abstract

An employee was working as an ultrasound technician at a general medical or hospital. The employee did not contract COVID-19 through any activity related to patient care. The employee had contracted COVID-19 from his coworker. surgical hospital. It was a medical center for veterans. He shared an office with a coworker. Their workstations were situated approximately 4 feet (1.2 meters) apart. Neither the employee nor the coworker was vaccinated. They were eating lunch at their workstations. Two days later, the coworker tested positive for COVID-19. He reported having experienced symptoms of COVID-19 on the day he and the employee had eaten lunch together. Three days after the coworker tested positive, the employee tested positive too. Six days after the employee tested positive, he was hospitalized. On September 3, 2021, the employee died in the
