Event description
Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee had been piloting a commercial aircraft. The employee flew with a coworker who was also a commercial pilot for two flights on July 7, 2021. On August 6, 2021, the employer notified the employee that he needed to begin quarantine and seek testing and monitor for symptoms due to close contact with the coworker who had tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was hospitalized on August 13, 2021 and died on August 25, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
