Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as an educational or vocational counselor at a residential mental health and substance abuse center. He worked as the dayshift supervisor of the milieu counselors. His last day of work was August 19, 2021. Typically, his days off from work were Friday and Saturday, which on this week were August 20 and August 21. The employee became symptomatic for COVID-19 on August 21, and he called out of work on August 22. On August 23, he was tested for COVID-19. The results came back positive on August 24. On September 3, the employee was admitted to a hospital in Connecticut. He was transferred to a hospital in New Jersey, where he died at 5:00 p.m. on September 18, 2021.
