Employee with COVID-19 infection dies
Investigation abstract
An employee was working as a janitor and cleaner for a temporary staffing for the most part when others were not present, such as between break times and when employees were not in their offices. There were 14 COVID-19 cases in the workplace around the time the employee became ill. All those cases were in the production area, where the employee did not work and which he did not frequent. The employee's wife and son tested positive for COVID-19 approximately one week after the employee tested positive. The medical report gave the cause of death as hypoxic respiratory failure secondary to COVID-19. employment agency. He had started with the agency on July 6, 2021. He had been sent to work at a firm as a custodian. He was assigned to clean and sanitize office areas, the cafeteria, lockers, and handrails in the production area near the cafeteria. On August 19, 2021, he began to exhibit symptoms typical of COVID-19, such as coughing, headaches, congestion, and body aches. On August 23, 2021, he tested positive for COVID-19. He was hospitalized on August 27, 2021, and he died at 2:00 p.m. on September 5, 2021. He had worked closely with a coworker who never came down with COVID-19. The employee's duties were performed
