Event description

Employee with COVID-19 infection is hospitalized

Investigation abstract

An employee was working as a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) for a hospital. The On October 6, 2021, the employee tested positive for COVID-19. On October 11, 2021, the employees was admitted to the hospital. employee was responsible for conducting entry screening of patients, support persons, and visitors. On or about October 4, 2021, the employee began to experience a headache toward the end of the work shift. The clinic would typically see 40 to 80 patients a day. The employee was believed to be wearing a facemask while screening employees. People entering the clinic were asked to put on a mask and provided one if they did not arrive with a mask. Some patients could not tolerate a mask and would be screened and taken directly to a room if possible. The following day the employee called her office to say she was ill.
