An employee was helping the overhead crane operator pour a ladle of molten metal when the ladle got wedged under the top railing. The stopper rod opened, and the ladle contents fell out, hit the floor, and splashed the employee. He sustained burns from his hip down to his shin area, with third degree burns on his legs. He also sustained burns to his face near the mustache area, as well as to one arm and both hands.
