An employee was being observed while performing their practical exam operating an electrically powered, stand up, 3000 lb. capacity fork lift. The employee went down an aisle as instructed and was turning the fork lift around. During the turn, the employee lost control of the fork lift and attempted to exit the fork lift. The employee stepped onto the dock with his left foot and the forward momentum of the fork lift caused the equipment to strike his left foot resulting in crushing injuries requiring hospitalization.
