An employee was using a chain saw to cut sections of a felled tree. When the saw cut completely through a section, the tree, which was under tension, swung 7 feet and hit him in the hip area, knocking him to the ground. He broke his femur, sacrum, pelvis, and ribs and suffered internal injuries, requiring hospitalization.
