An employee was performing a cargo connection between a tugger and a trailer. While connecting the trailer tongue to the tug, the trailer hitch of the tug caught the employee's right-hand fingers inside the ring at the end of the trailer tongue. The hitch crushed three of his fingers, resulting in amputations of the middle, ring, and little fingertips.
