An employee was attempting to tighten bolts on a sprinkler system used for fire suppression when a gasket ruptured, causing water under pressure to flow out and strike him. He then fell 16.5 feet from his ladder to the concrete floor below. He suffered facial scrapes, an orbital bone fracture above the left eye, a left shoulder fracture, a left rib fracture, a sacrum bone fracture on the left side, a collapsed lung on the left side, and a loss of consciousness.
