Final narrative
The injured employee was drying off excess sanitation water from the bottom of the nest plates on a filling machine. Her hand was next to the mechanism that lifts the cups out of the nest plates, referred to as the "lift pad." The lift pad pushed her right ring finger up into the hole as the nest plate was rotating smashing her finger and resulting in amputation of the fingertip and nail.
