An employee was cutting a small narrow piece of wood with a table saw and using a push stick. After finishing the necessary cut, the employee reached to shut the machine off. While reaching for the stop button, the employee's hand entered the vicinity of the blade before it had come to a complete stop. Three fingertips came in contact with the blade, resulting in fingertip amputations.
