Employees were disassembling a lattice boom crane. The crane had been lowered to a working height slightly above ground level and was also being supported by an assist crane. The injured employee was removing one of the connector pins when a section of the boom shifted downward and contacted his right foot resulting in a crushing injury to the foot and toes.
