An employee was operating the tire building machine at the first stage of the cycle. The employee was holding a wire bead rope material utilized in the manufacturing process. The material became caught in the machine and pulled the employee's left hand into the machine while his foot was stuck in the operation pedal. The employee suffered amputation of the left middle finger at the middle knuckle and a left ankle dislocation with a fracture.
