An employee was installing a DOT bumper for a truck that had been rear-ended the week prior. He used a pit jack to support the bumper. As he pulled the mounting bracket loose, it sprung forward and struck the employee in the face, resulting in fractures to the orbital socket, sinus cavity, and jaw bone, as well as the loss of at least one tooth.
