An employee helped co-workers move/shift a steel plate weighing approximately 700 pounds that measured 4-feet 1-inch wide by 8.5-feet long by 1-inch thick from the vertical position to the horizontal position. The employee's fingers were caught in the hole of the steel plate and as it shifted. The employee sustained an amputation of the right index finger and middle finger.
