An employee was stocking supplies in an empty patient room when she tripped over a wheelchair. The employee fell forward and struck her head on the sink. As she twisted to move, her head became stuck between the sink and the wall as she landed in a prone position. She sustained a laceration to her upper left eye that required sutures. The employee also sustained a spinal injury causing numbness, tingling, and pain in her hands. The employee was hospitalized.
