On September 4, 2024, at 10:22 AM, an employee was directing a backhoe operator from the asphalt on the side of an excavation. The employee reached over the backhoe bucket to move a spade when the bucket bounced up and struck his right foot. The employee sustained an amputation of two toes and required surgery.
