The injured employee had been operating the curtain sealer machine for another employee. When the other employee came back, the injured employee was talking to them and her hand went down near the arm of the machine. The machine then started and crushed the injured employee's right ring finger. The employee was hospitalized with a partial amputation to the finger. A guard was not in place at the time.
