Final narrative
An employee was using a chainsaw to cut the stalk of a tree that was rigged to a crane while on an aerial lift. The stalk broke off below the pinch point and the butt tipped up and pinched the chainsaw, pulling the employee out of the basket. The employee fell to the surface level and sustained fractures to their pelvis and vertebrae/spine. Fall protection was not in place at the time.
