An employee had been tasked with hauling large rocks. There was a rock caught in the tailgate of the dump truck that was preventing it from opening. He went to get the rock out and the tailgate came down, crushing his right middle fingertip. The employee sustained a fracture of the distal phalanx and required surgery.
