The injured employee was underneath a crawler dozer, working to remove the bottom rollers on the left-hand side. He was using an impact wrench to take out the inside bolts for the roller. The machine's blade and ripper were resting on the ground. The machine s hydraulics were being used to lift it. While the injured employee was under the machine removing the bolts, he told another employee to raise the machine. The machine lowered instead and the blade lowered onto the injured employee's left hand, crushing it. The employee's ring finger was amputated.
