Final narrative
An employee was helping two other employees to hold the loops of a large stainless steel coil as it was being fed into a straightener machine. They fed the coil in loop by loop; at the last loop, the coil twisted and its end began to whip while the employee was holding it. The end of the coil struck his left middle finger causing an avulsion to the fingertip. The fingertip was partially medically amputated.
