Final narrative
An employee was working from a bridge platform, building bottom edge beams. He stopped work to leave for lunch, then fell from the platform to the riverbed about 30-40 feet below. He sustained fractures to his left hand/wrist and lower back, as well as internal bleeding. The employee was hospitalized and required surgery.
