Two associates were setting up a pallet that was placed on the traverser.

After the lock pins were disengaged the associates attempted to raise the back of the pallet to set it in place. The hinge point of the pallet resisted moving into place due to normal wear and tear overtightened pivot bolt or damage. The injured associate placed their left hand at the hinge point to force the post into place while slowly raising the pallet back. The 2nd associate pulled back on the pallet without communicating their intentions to the injured associate while the injured associate 's hand was still in the line of fire.
