What happened

While wearing gloves the employee attempted to pull a metal banding strap off of a pallet but it was stuck. He pulled harder and his hand slipped off of the strap cutting his finger tip. He said he didn 't feel the cut but his hand felt suddenly warm beneath his glove and upon removing the glove found that he was bleeding. He immediately wrapped his hand in his shirt and went to the bathroom. [REDACTED] went into the bathroom and noticed [REDACTED] was bleeding into the sink and offered to assist with first aid. [REDACTED] then discovered that a large part of [REDACTED] 's fingernail was gone and advised [REDACTED] to stop running water over the wound since there was no dirt debris and proceeded to provide first aid. Due to the nature of the laceration and continuous blood loss after initial bandaging and pressure [REDACTED] contacted [REDACTED] for Urgent Care prior authorization at Concentra.
