Restraining an EDO patient

Me and my fellow officer were trying to restrain an EDO patient as he attempted to elope. The patient started resisting making it a struggle to provide his medication. As we were attempting to gain control my wrist was slammed in between the patients body and the bed rails which caused my wrist to swell up and become painful.
