Before the incident
preventing patient from falling
What happened
Patient (4.8 160 lbs) was able to successfully dangle at the side of the bed for 15 minutes and then insist to try to stand to sit in chair. Notified patient that she would not be able to do so but the patient insist to try. Bed in lowest position but even so was too high for patient when she attempted to stand and her legs would not support her weight. I was using proper body mechanics and had one knee in between her legs and was supporting her under her arms and back at the time with my right leg back in a slight lunge to maintain patient safety to keep the patient safe from falling.
