Sorting packages on route in office.

Rural carrier stated I was sorting packages on [REDACTED] when I noticed a large package that was open and needed to be taped closed. I took the tape dispenser from the supervisor 's desk and wrapped the box up securely. Placing the tape back into the dispenser and while picking it up with my left hand it slipped down out of my hand and the teeth came in contact with the knuckle of my right hand. The metal on the teeth cut my skin and nicked the vein and started to bleed. I didn 't realize it was bad until after I replaced the dispenser and looked to find my hand was bleeding a lot. I went to the restroom to wash and placed paper towels over the cut to stop the flow of blood. After applying pressure for ten minutes a supervisor came over to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything from the first aid kit. I stated I would be fine and would just keep pressure on it until it would stop bleeding. After five or ten minutes had passed from that point another supervisor asked to see the w
