Delivering mail in the building

At approximately [REDACTED] while delivering in [REDACTED] a carrier was struck in the elevator between the 7th and the 8th floor. The carrier rang the alarm and the maintenance employees arrived but were unable to open the elevator doors. The maintenance employees called the elevator mechanics but did not call [REDACTED]. After being in the elevator for more than 30 minutes the carrier called [REDACTED] and the Fire Department arrived in less than 10minutes. The FDNY was able to get carrier out. He had to climb out the elevator with the help of the firefighters. The carrier has a few scratches on his left leg and his left hand. He also has pains in his left leg lower back and left shoulder. He ended his tour and stated he was going to the emergency room.
