What happened
On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] an experienced [REDACTED] roll up pipe plant operator was performing the typical and repetitive task of removing a roll up bar (1” pipe x 10’ long) from a formed roll of basic material (uncured fiberglass mat). This task of bar removal typically happens after the formed roll is wheeled to an open space a few feet away from the end of the line. At the time of the injury the operator was training another employee on the task causing the operator to stand in a slightly different position than usual. When he pulled the roll up bar with his left hand extending his arm behind him he pinched his pinky finger between the end of the roll up bar and a metal table workstation fracturing his finger. Both operators were wearing proper PPE and all equipment tools were in working order. No upset conditions or abnormalities were present.
