I was attempting blood draw with ultrasound assist due to lab 's inability to draw the patient on multiple occasions previous; I requested a butterfly needle from lab tech who provided it and after an unsuccessful attempt on my part to acquire blood draw with said needle I was stuck in my posterior left third digit on the distal-most joint after needle was withdrawn from patient; I bled briefly and then puncture clotted; Supervisor and PCS notified immediately
