Preparing the equipment for a filter paper change.
What happened
while performing a paper change EE used the palm of their hand to quickly push the filter paper spindle lock while doing so their hand slipped and struck the open gear safety cover causing a laceration to the palm of their hand. there was no blood immediately and it did not hurt so EE thought nothing of it. upon further inspection EE realized there was what looked like a tendon exposed.
