Employee was preparing shaft in press by maneuvering it into position to slit cores on it.

Employee slid shaft to towards the operator 's side of the press. Right end of shaft jumped out of end stop cradle causing the left end of the shaft to fall to the floor. Left end of shaft landed on right foot of employee just past the edge of the steel toe area on the boot causing a fracture to the lessor toe next to the pinky toe.
